Société "Les Francs Gaulois" de Wihéries

Cavalcade des Francs Gaulois

Historique et évolution :

Fondée en 1978 par un groupe d’amis, la société « Les Francs Gaulois » coordonnait et animait chaque année à Wihéries une cavalcade. Le thème choisi étant le village d’Astérix, on retrouvait, chaque année, sur le char ce personnage accompagné de son compagnon Obélix. Par ailleurs, cette société organisait également, chaque année, une fête de la bière en mai, des sorties de capitaines, une fête populaire à la Cambuse le week-end du 15 août, un réveillon du Nouvel-An avec bal et banquet, des déplacements hors du village ainsi qu’une discothèque pour différentes animations. 

De nos jours, cette société qui n’existait plus, fut recréée le 13 septembre 2018 sous le nom des « Nouveaux Francs Gaulois ».
