Henri Adolphe Amand Pochez est né à Dour le 15 juillet 1840.

Henri Pochez est devenu trésorier général de l’Etat indépendant du Congo en 1886.

Il décède à Uccle le 20 octobre 1925.

Une rue adopte son nom le 18 décembre 1926 bien qu’il avait décliné cet honneur en 1901.
